Celebrate Recovery Update: Stronger Than Ever
Dear Friends,
Over the past year, we have heard occasional rumors that our Celebrate Recovery meeting at Henderson Hills Baptist Church may be slowing down or even considering closing. We want to take a moment to share the facts—celebrate what God is doing—and provide a look at what is ahead.
The reality is that our ministry is experiencing one of its strongest years since I began serving as Recovery Director in 2014. We are grateful for God's faithfulness and for everyone who continues to serve, support, and participate in this ministry.
Some Accomplishments from 2026 include:
· Consistent weekly Large Group and Open Share Groups with strong attendance.
· Increased participation in open share groups.
· Multiple Step Studies completed with new men’s and women’s starting this fall.
· CPR completed with one, possibly two CPR starts this fall.
· Growth in leadership and volunteer involvement—55+ active volunteers weekly.
· Newcomers finding hope and restoration weekly through revised NC 101 group.
· Outreach opportunities within our church and community.
· Ongoing support for individuals and families impacted by hurts, habits, and hang-ups.
· Strengthened partnership with a church in Deer Creek to plan a new CR plant.
· Twelve leaders attended Summit 2026 in Nashville.
· Continued tradition of active CRI presence.
· Continued initiative to support First Responder Community through Step Study.
· Development of Mental Health Initiative for community benefit.
· Design and implement three Celebrate Recovery Q and A Panel Night(s).
· Service our 130 Angels in the upcoming Angel Tree ministry.
We were excited about the opportunity to host Celebrate Oklahoma in 2027. Unfortunately, a previously scheduled church event created a date conflict that prevented us from serving as the host site. While we are disappointed we could not host this incredible event, we remain committed to supporting Celebrate Recovery throughout Oklahoma and look forward to participating in more training in 2027.
Our Plans for 2027 include:
Expand leadership development and training through programs like Q and A panel night, quarterly training, and CR One Day training events.
Support the growth of our seven-member teaching team.
Launch additional Step Studies in January and September of 2027.
Support the CPR initiative by completing up to two new CPR groups in 2027.
Build support for the First Responder community through Step Studies.
Increase community outreach efforts through our partnering church in Deer Creek.
Strengthening partnerships with local churches, recovery ministries, treatment centers, and sober living programs.
Participate in Celebrate Recovery Summit 2027.
Develop and implement CR Mental Health initiatives designed under the Light University course(s).
Continue creating a welcoming environment for the Newcomer in 2027.
Grow volunteer service opportunities across Large Group, Open Share Groups, Kitchen and Worship Team service, Step Study leadership, CPR and First Responders, Mental Health initiative, outreach, and teaching team.
Reach more people in our community who are seeking recovery and hope.
Continue the tradition of leading the state in CRI presence.
Continue to serve as the number one ministry in Oklahoma in Angel Tree.
